If you are just wanting the simplicity of a Shelby with its crude body lines and inferior handling based on today's technology I could help you find one. Not to knock the Shelby it was a great car in its day I would still be happy to help you…

Hello   I was wondering if you happen to know Gene or Leonard personally. I suppose you see by now the Annaconda project has been abandoned.   Do you have any pics of any of the cars you own on here?   Cheers Steve

Oh and Mustang 1 Had nothing to do with the build of the Annaconda!
and for anyone whom it may concearn I built the engine in the Annaconda, I think Mustang 1 is mad be cause they wanted me to get the protype engine that I engineerd in the python body they bought from Leonard, I told them if it was a one time deal it would cost them 20,000. because the possibilty them tearing it down and duplicating it! If you are intrested in one of these cars the person you need to speak to is Leonard Compton not any one else!

What type of project are you doing I know a guy who is not even affiliated with any of them he is from New Zealand but lives in Dallas and is by far a better craftsman than Leonard would ever be. We have been talking about doing some projects but we live to far apart, his name is Matts, if you would like I can put him in touch with you some how.

I myself just relocated and may be interested in taking on a project this spring, I am a perfectionist and am certain you would be 115% happy with my work, if you would like to discuss your project with me my cell phone number is 405-200-9037 its a Oklahoma number but I live in Wyoming now just outside Yellowstone.

Yes for the money you would be much better off purchasing a Shelby, the market values have dropped some so picking one up will be much easier on the pocket book. The whole concept of the Anaconda was as a tribute car for Gene Winfield, when comparing the technology of a Shelby to the Anaconda there was no comparison the whole concept was great it was just unfortunate that greed stepped into the mix. I also agree that the price for the cars was too high and like the Shelby are over rated, we have the Eleanor to thank for that as well as Unique Performance. Gene Winfield didn't have anything to do with the failure of the project other than the fact he signed the car and Jim and Celeste saw dollar signs, I suppose that is ok to each there own, but I don't think Leonard was ever completely honest with me and in reality I could have put a mechanics lean on the car but I was tired of all the mess myself, I also didn't appreciate how Mustang 1 just walked right on in taking credit for our work but Leonard thought he could keep building the cars if he hooked up with them.

If you want an Anaconda It can be built turn key 60,000 and Gene would still sign the dash, even though it handles better than a new Shelby and runs superior to a new Shelby its just another car without endorsements by some one like Carol Shelby or Gene Winfield. That is where the true value of the cars was appraised, and that is also where the Anaconda project went wrong. Leonard told me Jim and Celeste got greedy but I think it was Leonard who was the problem. I will know the whole truth someday!

Shortly after we got back from SEMA in 2006 we was shut down on production, I did build a one off for another guy in Texas, this one was based on my designs for the Python, I spent many sleepless nights designing this car and was happy I was given the chance to build it. It was a 67 fastback, I gave it a v-10 with the tremec 6 speed utilizing the viper gear ratios and the suspension was quite superior to the Anaconda.

I am just wondering , did you happen to see the Anaconda at the SEMA show.

I do have a link for you, this is a well documented gt350 and the price is not to bad considering, not sure if its your color but how can you go wrong with red.

I do know you don't want to buy any Shelby's coming out of Shawnee Ok. thats just between me and you cause I am not certain but have my doubts.

I also understand Mustang 1 to be full of drama as well, so be cautious there as well!

Take care
